SNAP-8

Also known as: Acetyl Glutamyl Heptapeptide-1 · Acetyl Octapeptide-3 · Leuphasyl-Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2

A synthetic octapeptide designed to mimic the N-terminal end of the SNAP-25 protein, competing with its binding site in the SNARE complex. Inhibits neuromuscular vesicle fusion at the dermal-epidermal junction, reducing expression-line depth and preventing dynamic wrinkle formation. Often called the "topical alternative to Botox."

What is SNAP-8? A synthetic octapeptide designed to mimic the N-terminal end of the SNAP-25 protein, competing with its binding site in the SNARE complex. Inhibits neuromuscular vesicle fusion at the dermal-epidermal junction, reducing expression-line depth and preventing dynamic wrinkle formation. Often called the "topical alternative to Botox."

How does SNAP-8 work? SNAP-8 interferes with SNARE (Soluble NSF Attachment Protein Receptor) complex formation by competing with SNAP-25 at the neuronal membrane level. This reduces the release of catecholamines from synaptic vesicles at the neuromuscular junction in the skin, decreasing the frequency of muscle contractions responsible for dynamic wrinkles. 2x more concentrated than the similar Argireline peptide.

Benefits of SNAP-8: Reduces expression-line depth and wrinkle severity; Interferes with SNARE complex neuromuscular signaling; "Topical Botox" mechanism without injections; Reduces crow's feet, forehead lines, and glabellar wrinkles; Suitable for inclusion in topical formulations; Complementary to standard anti-aging peptides; Well tolerated topically

SNAP-8 dosage: Topical concentration: 3-10% in final formulation. For research: reconstituted in carrier solution. No established injectable protocol.

Storage & Reconstitution Guide

Storage Temperature

-20°C (lyophilized)

24 months (lyophilized), 28 days (reconstituted)

Reconstitution Solvent

Bacteriostatic water (BAC water)

Swirl gently — do not shake or vortex

Handling Notes

Protect lyophilized peptide from moisture and light. Once reconstituted, keep refrigerated. Discard if solution becomes cloudy or discolored. Use insulin syringe for precise dosing.

Step-by-Step Reconstitution

1

Gather supplies

BAC water, insulin syringe, alcohol swabs, vial

2

Disinfect tops

Swab rubber stoppers of both vials with alcohol

3

Draw BAC water

Pull desired mL of BAC water into syringe

4

Inject slowly

Inject BAC water down the side of the peptide vial, swirl gently to dissolve
